About the Role
Responsibilities:
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Collect and record data on client behavior and progress
- Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct one-on-one therapy to clients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Teach and reinforce appropriate social, communication, and daily living skills
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure consistency in treatment approach
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients
Experience:
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism or related developmental disabilities preferred
- Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques is a plus
- Ability to follow behavior plans and implement interventions effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with autism
Requirements
Education
High school or equivalent
License/Certification:
CPR Certification or achieve certification for hire. (Preferred)
Registered Behavior Technician (Preferred)
Ability to Commute:
Throughout the Hampton Roads area
